HRM: Company Visit 1

After our company hunting, we chose LYR to be our adopted company for our Human Resources Management subject. After weighing our chances among all the companies we visited and interviewed, we thought that LYR was the best choice because the people there were warm and welcoming us but the main reason for our decision was because of Mr.Carlito S. Llano. Those who have already read my "Company Hunting" post can remember that Sir Carlito was the HR Manager of LYR. He was very intellectual and experienced in his 32 years of studying all aspects of Human Resource Management so we thought that if we adopt the said company, he will be equipped with all the information that we need in our research.

And he proved us right.

In our first official visit, we saw an actual interview/screening process of the new applicants. After he interviewed all the applicants, he directly ushered us to sit in front of his table. He was very busy yet he chose to entertain us because he knows the purpose of our visit. As we sat down, we gave him the outline of our study and he started to give all the details listed on the outline.

The ff. are the topics that Sir Carlito taught us that day:

  1. Acquisition of Human Resources

  2. Training and Developing Employees

  3. Performance Management and Appraisal

  4. Compensating Employees

  5. Collective Bargaining

In my next post which will be entitled "Learining is unlearning: An HRM Special", I will give a detailed summary on the topics above. All of those things said/posted in that entry is my own interpretation to what Mr.Llano have imparted to us.

To Mr. Llano and to all his staff who have been very helpful to us, we thank you very much. We hope your company continues to prosper.

LYR.?? buti pa kayo, meron na kayong company tapos mabait pa mentor nyo. Mahirap na kasi talagang maghanap ng company and staff na accommodating sa mga students na tulad natin.
